Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sandwich

  • 8 pieces of delicious Hawaiian bread
  • 4 slices each of Swiss cheese and ham
  • Rings of pineapple
  • Just 2 teaspoons of butter
  • Honey mustard, 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon of mayo (optional)


  1. Preheat your pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Prepare the bread: Lay out the Hawaiian bread slices on a clean surface. If desired, spread honey mustard on one side of each slice and mayo on the other side for an extra flavor boost.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches: On half of the bread slices, layer Swiss cheese, ham, and pineapple rings. Top with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  4. Butter the bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  5. Grill the sandwiches: Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet or griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve hot: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice if desired, and serve hot.
