Ingredients

For the Taco Beef:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or ground turkey)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning (or 1 packet)

  • ½ cup tomato sauce (or salsa)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Base:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or Mexican rice)

Toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes

  • ½ cup black beans (optional)

  • ½ cup corn kernels (optional)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese

  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • ¼ cup sliced green onions

  • 1 small bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed

  • Salsa or taco sauce, for drizzling

🧑‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Beef:

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  • Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes until softened.

  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.

  • Stir in garlic, taco seasoning, and tomato sauce (or salsa).

  • Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened and flavorful.

2. Prepare the Base:

  • Divide cooked rice between serving bowls.

  • Top with a layer of taco beef.

3. Assemble the Bowls:

  • Add toppings in sections or layers: lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, corn, and shredded cheese.

  • Add a dollop of sour cream and drizzle with salsa or taco sauce.

  • Finish with a generous handful of crushed Doritos for crunch.

4. Serve:

  • Serve immediately — mix everything together and enjoy that creamy, crunchy, cheesy taco goodness!

✅ Tips:

  • Use Cilantro-Lime Rice for a Chipotle-style twist.

  • Swap beef for shredded chicken or plant-based crumbles for variation.

  • Add sliced avocado or guacamole for extra richness.

  • Want it spicier? Toss in jalapeños or use spicy Doritos! 🌶️
