Ingredients (Serves 4):
-
2 lbs beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
5 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
ยฝ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tsp dried thyme (or fresh, chopped)
-
Optional: ยฝ cup beef broth or water for more sauce
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
๐จโ๐ณ Instructions:
1. Sear the beef (optional but recommended):
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown beef bites in batches until nicely seared on all sides (about 2โ3 minutes per batch). This step adds flavor but can be skipped to save time.
2. Add ingredients to slow cooker:
Transfer seared beef to the slow cooker. Add butter, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, thyme, and beef broth (if using).
3. Cook low and slow:
Cover and cook on LOW for 6โ7 hours or on HIGH for 3โ4 hours, until beef is tender and flavorful.
4. Finish and serve:
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot as is or over cauliflower rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed veggies for a protein-rich meal.
๐ Variations:
-
Add mushrooms and onions for extra veggies and flavor.
-
Stir in a splash of lemon juice or balsamic vinegar at the end for brightness.
-
Make it spicy by adding crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
