Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or all-purpose for lighter texture)

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (or light oil of choice)

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp salt

For Coating:

  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the dough:

  • In a saucepan, combine water, coconut oil, salt, and maple syrup. Bring to a boil.

  • Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour and cinnamon until a smooth dough forms. It will be thick and sticky.

  • Let cool slightly, then stir in vanilla.

2. Pipe the bites:

  • Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip (or use a zip-top bag with the corner snipped).

  • Pipe small 1–2 inch bite-sized rounds onto parchment paper or a silicone mat.

3. Preheat air fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.

4. Air fry the bites:

  • Carefully transfer the piped dough rounds to the air fryer basket (use parchment if needed).

  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crisp.

5. Coat the churro bites:

  • Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.

  • Toss warm churro bites in the mixture until coated.

6. Serve:

  • Enjoy with a side of warm chocolate sauce, caramel, or your favorite dip!

🔁 Variations:

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice to the dough for seasonal flair.

  • Use gluten-free flour if preferred.

  • For extra crunch, spray bites lightly with oil before air frying.
