Ingredients

Brownie Layer
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ cup unsalted butter melted

    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cheesecake Swirl
    • 8 oz cream cheese softened
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 1 large egg yolk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Step 1: Preheat and Prep
    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    2. Grease or line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2: Make the Brownie Batter
    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
    2. In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth.
    3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until glossy.

  1. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Step 3: Pour and Swirl
    1. Spread brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
    2. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.

  1. Drop spoonfuls of cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter.
  2. Use a knife to gently swirl into a marbled pattern—don’t overmix.
Step 4: Bake
    1. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

  1. Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
