Oven Roasted Garlic Cabbage Steaks

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head green cabbage

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)


🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

  2. Prepare Cabbage:
    Remove any loose outer leaves. Slice the cabbage into ¾-inch thick “steaks” (round slices).

  3. Make Garlic Oil:
    In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper.

  4. Brush Cabbage:
    Place cabbage steaks on the baking sheet. Brush both sides generously with the garlic oil mixture.

  5. Roast:
    Roast in the oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are crispy and browned.

  6. Garnish & Serve:
    Sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm as a side dish or a light main.


Tips:

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the steaks before roasting.

  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving for brightness.

  • Leftover steaks are great chopped into salads or grain bowls.
