Ingredients
-
1½ lbs sirloin steak (or ribeye, NY strip), cut into 1-inch cubes
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
Optional: chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
-
Optional: red pepper flakes, for a little heat
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the Steak:
-
Pat steak cubes dry with paper towels (helps them sear).
-
Season generously with salt and pepper.
2. Sear the Steak:
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet (cast iron preferred) over high heat.
-
Add steak cubes in a single layer (don’t overcrowd — cook in batches if needed).
-
Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
-
Transfer steak to a plate and keep warm.
3. Make Garlic Butter:
-
Reduce heat to medium.
-
In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt.
-
Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
4. Toss and Serve:
-
Return steak bites to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter to coat.
-
Cook 1 more minute just to heat through.
-
Garnish with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if using.
